2010 Alternative Energy Industry Spotlight
A clean energy future isn’t an option any longer because of global warming; the evidence is obvious. With buildings, not cars, being the number one contributor of green house gases, that means a conscious effort will have to be made to designing and building energy efficient buildings, net zero buildings, and ultimately buildings that provide energy back to the grid. The key to making that happen lies in alternative energy, and as prices fall and the technology improves, it will be a vital component to reaching energy producing buildings. Software used in building design makes green building with alternative energy easier and can even calculate how long it will take for you to see a return on investment. This, coupled with tax incentives at the state and federal level, make it so that our future inevitably will include alternative energy in buildings, hopefully bringing us closer to the goal of being a more sustainable mankind.

Learn about the types of alternative energy used in buildings, what software is used, examples of tax incentives, and examples of buildings setting the bar for alternative energy incorporated into buildings.
